We sell used Drinks…

Well after bartending for nearly 23 years I thought I had seen it all but no I haven’t; until I started working at this particular bar in Atlanta, Ga. near the airport.  This adult night club if you will is well-known throughout the community and the metro surrounding area, there’s only one problem, they resale drinks to their customers!  I mean really folks this is so unsanitary to say the least yet let me tell you how they truly run major scams nitely on their life long customers.  First off is when you order  say a vodka cranberry and then you take a sip or two only to reply “it’s too much cranberry juice” these geniuses at this mega-plex club tell all the bartenders to strain the ice out of the return drink and then resale it; yes folks resale it for another vodka cran or add it to a madras, either way folks you are not to throw out alcohol.  Now can you imagine the disgust I felt when I was told to do this repeatedly, needless to say I no longer work at that ghetto joint.  Not only is that disgusting it could be unhealthy or life threatening to someone with herpes, v.d., or even HIV positive or just a common cold;nasty nasty nasty!  They also practice bootlegging the liquor pretending to have Hennessey, Cuervo Gold, Courvoisier, Tangarai, and other alcohol on a gun which we all know is a big fat lie on their part.  Whoever heard of cognac on a gun in a night club are you serious!  The management lacks people skills and they try to make customers pay for drinks they didn’t order.  What kills me is how they stayed in business this long even the food from the kitchen is bad and has a stench on them such as the wings, the shrimps, the catfish and the steaks pure raunchy yet people are drinking, in a happy intoxicated mood and they don’t notice the terrible food and reused alcohol their eating and drinking which really is an off brand from which they order and are paying for.  Customer service has really changed in the last 10 years and running a business has gotten more low down and sleazy because owners and managers aren’t passionate enough and or creative enough to produce quality, quantity, with integrity and character.  Yes my friend that club really takes the cake and stomps on it as well, truly a group of no class and small-minded individuals who don’t care about people and the safety of their customers who spend good hard money to patronize them in this down turn economy.  instead of being grateful this club decided to be greedy and sleazy.  So remember next time you’re in Atlanta and find yourself at a popular club near the airport order a bottled beer then get some take out on the way home from the club. The d.j. is awesome yet he doesn’t mix drinks or serve food.

Who Drinks the most Younger or Older People..

This past friday I started a new gig at a mega -plex club downtown  Atlanta.  The crowd was 30 and over and it is  really a popular and infamous night club.  I have worked in other night clubs before and the average age was about 24 yrs. and older yet tonight as I was checking out the beautiful people/customers and was also noticing that they were really nursing those drinks like crazy! Don’t get me wrong they were drinking because the cocktail waitresses were ringing lots of drinks yet on a bar with 7 bartenders we had time to get a manicure and a peticure while taking our car to get detailed at a car wash.  Man! I mean it was truly slow motion in that joint and yet I was trying to remember when was the last time that I worked at a club and had that much time to do my laundry?  Then I got to thinking and rationalizing “hum maybe there just chilling, they’ll get this party started around 1 a.m” ?Wrong answer then I said “well maybe its the economy people just don’t have it like that it doesn’t mean they should just sit home and look depressed, you need to get out and let off some steam from time to time right”?  Finally I said this crowd being older are really closet go getter and are really ushers and deacons from the church hiding out for a bit to get their freak on if you know what I mean.  But I thought about it more clearly and in this way; when you put older people next to younger people it is plain to see that older people drink more than younger people yet not in public establishments.  You see the old schoolers are more tactful in their approach when it comes to being out in the public eye in drinking without thinking as the younger crowd do so often.  For instance at any holiday celebration no matter what color, creed you are there is always, always that one aunt, or uncle, or relative (over 35) who will always get beligerate at these festive celebrations to where a fight breaks out or some shocking story comes up about families secrets that were buried for over 20 plus years.  Hell you may find out that your uncle is really yo daddy or better yet the mail man is your daddy and not that guy you spent the last 22 years taking you to all school activities and or sporting events.  Yes older people can get this party started yet the older they get the more discrete they will get when going out in public  to do their dirt.  However the younger crowd are still wild and free and have no scruples about whether their dancing naked on the bar or somewhere shit faced in a stall throwing up, to them its all good and for that…

I LOVE YOU MAN!!!!!

How To Run Bar Tabs on a Busy Night…

For over 20 plus years I’ve bartended in many bars from south Florida (Fort-Lauderdale, Miami) to the city of Atlanta where I’ve been from tourist spots, fast paced restaurant bars, night clubs and finally Hartsfield-Jackson airport.  Most of these bars you can do about 6 to 10 grand in a 4 hour span so it should tell you how serious these bars can be.  To top that off every year downtown Atlanta has what they called their peach drop bringing in the New Year and at that time I have served nearly 20 to 50 thousand people in one shift because the estimate crowds will run from 75-150 people all in one location and only one bar facing the peach drop that serves alcohol and not just beer.  It was truly and awesome time and I do miss those 1500-2500 dollar New Year celebration shifts yet life goes on.  Which brings me to how does one keep up with all that damn money? do you just have a terrific memory, do you have an accountant on that shift, is there a cashier of some kind or do you run bar tabs..  The answer is simple you should use your own instincts and judgement on the guest who sits at your bar.  For technical purposes lets just say that your bar is able to run bar tabs where as most bars won’t allow it anymore.  Now first thing first if they are regulars than we won’t put them in this scenario and we’ll focus on lets say the NFL play- offs with Dallas and the Saints; clearly the bar is  packed before kick-off and people are everywhere.  Folks are mingling around the bar walking from chair to chair table to table and the money is slamming, but you turn to give the gentlemen at the end of the bar his ticket after his 5th beer and damn he’s gone?  No need to panic here’s a few insight that may help you in your quest of getting your cheese before your guest is in the breeze.  As I noted first hand just simply use your own judgement with your guest by reading their body language for instance if he/she is quiet and just sits at a busy bar watching you, watch his/her ass; I mean come on most of the time their trying to see if you’re getting busy or flustered to try to run game on you at some point.  It may be by refuting the bill or simply by complaining about the drinks they’ve already dranked but I tell you to watch who ever is too quiet sitting their watching you work it aint natural dude.  Second try placing the tab in front of them in a glass or sticking out of the bar mat in order to be ready when their ready but note this especially when he/she moves  that the tab will move with them, some guest are known to cruise the bar and never sit down so if that’s the case give him the 2 drink minimum if you can’t keep up with him/her by cashing them out on the 2nd beer.  If they tell you that they will be awhile then politely tell them that if a guest is standing that you aren’t able to run tabs at that time, your manager should back you up on this one; I’ve seen many bartenders get burned on this one many times including myself I don’t know why when their standing up they want to by everybody a damn drink then slip out on the tab with the benefactors going “no I never met him before he just bought us a drink.”  A third rule is if you’re getting yourself behind in making the drinks and getting overwhelmed in cashing people out then get a manager to help you to cash those people out who want to leave.  What I can’t stand is a prideful bartender who when they get busy they don’t want any help not even from a fellow server, bartender, busser or manager; don’t be a bone head man get the help take the help and take care of your priority number one.. the customers.  A fourth thing you might want to try is use a cook, cashier or someone who’s getting off their shift to help with the bar maintenance such as pulling the trash, washing the glasses, running your food (crucial one) and just cleaning up any breakage or spillage you might have as well as getting more ice for the bar; the point here is to maintain availability to collect the money without having too much to do at one time.  Finally the reason why I named a lot of things dealing with issues other than just running bar tabs solely is because in order to run bar tabs you have to be able or well aware of who’s drinking what and who’s paying for whose drinks.  If your running around trying to take care of basic bar duties (when you’re the only bartender) the night can turn on you in a matter of minutes where you could have one customer complaint turn into a domino affect where 6 or 7 customers are complaining and 2 or 3 are leaving without paying for their tab.  A night like the one just described can take the entire shift to get under control and even by then you spend extra hours trying to find walk outs and checks that need to be voided.  So use your own discretion and don’t have wandering customers who’s buying up the place and watch out for the silent types that are lurking and looking not at the t.v. but at you.  Other than that stay focused and get that money!!!

How Pretty Women Can Ruin Your Nite On The Bar…

O.K. its thursday nite which is karaoke nite and the bar is packed with a bunch of thirsty customers and wanna  be ballers.  The drinks are pouring and the tips are slamin then walks in this hot, hot chick with her 2 gorgeous girlfriends with little to nothing on.  The women who were at the bar earlier are all but lost in the conversation that the new chicks have suddenly started up.  The strange thing is that the hot chicks have been sitting at the bar for the past 5 minutes yet they haven’t ordered a drink as of yet.  When you ask what can I get you ladies tonite and they reply “Uh’m we’re not ready yet”; Red Flag! let me tell you new and aspiring bartenders out there what’s really going on here.  These 3 little hoochies are surfing the bar for fresh meat to see who’s gonna man up and say “hey put them on my tab”.  Now lesson number one is don’t get yourself caught up in their beauty because last I checked beauty doesn’t pay the bills my friend.  2. Please I mean please don’t go for the winks that they will give you with a smile and toss of the hair. 3.  When they ask what’s the cheapest thing you have don’t go for the sympathy move that you will give them the first drink. 4.  If you see them engaging in a conversation with a customer who’s either a regular or a good tipper beware of them telling you that he’s paying for a drink for them when he goes to the rest room or he’s turned to watch tv or talking with another guest. 5.  Always confirm drinks from any guest to see if they are really paying for a drink because when its time to pay and that cutie is gone that guest will say I didn’t buy her drinks I was just talking to her; and you will be stuck with an expensive tab on your hand to dispute.  6. Never ignore other women at the bar if you have a chick who’s getting a lot of attention because it will surely hurt your moo-laa in the end my friend.  7.  Never waste time with a hottie on the bar who’s either indecisive about what to drink or is just flirting with you that’s distracting you from real customers.  8. Don’t get caught up if she’s playing with her boobs or licking her lips a lot just be very polite and stay focused on the bar.  9.  Don’t let her order drinks and keep leaving the bar to use her cell phone on go talk to other customers at the bar, believe me she’s planing to skate on the tab if she can’t find a sponsor. 10.  Don’t be fooled by crocodile tears of a death in the family or a break up or she lost something because if you fall for the okee-doke she will surely drink her ass off and leave you with a 50.00 tab or more it’s game young grasshoppers pure game.  Finally treat each and every guest as if they are your only customer and try to equally give them your attention whenever they may need service of any kind.  You can’t judge a person by color, clothes, class, gender or occupation for  if they have class and good character it will show in their tip so make them all All-

Stars and watch the money pile up.

The Angry Bartender…

Have you ever went to a bar after a hard days  work with your boss on your case all day and you had a fight with your significant other earlier that morning so before you go home you just want to head to your neighborhood water hole before you go home.  Yet when you pull up into the parking lot and walk into to the establishment you sit down at the bar and you noticed 2 bartenders; you politely smile at one of them and kindly say “could I have a Madras please”?, only to have one of the pre-tenders snarled at you and say “damn he would come in while I’m eating and order a mixed drink instead of a beer”.  Well let me inform you what is really going on here; first of all you must know that you are in the right dude and dudets and not to really trip over the bartender, the first problem normally is shift change amongst the bartenders which has nothing to do with nothing.  The second is probably the correct answer in that this bar establishment hired a lazy ass bartender which most become if it’s not a passion instead of just a paycheck.  The third is common as well in that they are really a server training to become a bartender hinse the word i.e, pre-tender (meaning just starting out aka, young grasshopper).  Yet they commonly are nicer which helps them out when they can’t make a certain drink.  Another could be he/she are just a complete as#ho$% and a lot of restaurants/bar establishments hire tons of people like this yet I personally believe its do to the fact that now everything is on the internet as far as hiring employees so you truly don’t have a clear knowledge of who your hiring until it’s too late;  I’ve written an article about internet job search and will post it at a later time, its killing our country and adding to the unemployment status across the U.S.  Finally you have the simple classic of  all  bartenders and that my friend is the arrogant  bartender.  Now this one you’ll find in every bar and it stems from them having too much authority to handle issued at the bar and or the have seniority at their establishment.  This bartender will make you wait on all your drinks as well as the servers and will entice you to say something to them in order to create an argument and yes throw around their authority.  They really need a hug to say the least yet I will say that none of these issues have to do with the customer themselves and yet the guest is at the heart of all the b.s. I’ve just stated.  It is as if you, (the customer) ought to be glad that they (the bartender) are even acknowledging you at their bar!  A lot of small businesses miss these kinds of bartenders because they are really good bullsh#tters and have the managers or owners in their back pocket in which most of the time they are stealing their ass off and yet still have an arrogant attitude when it comes to customer service.  My advice to anyone who comes across an establishment like this one is simple… LEAVE!  Your money is the motive and you shouldn’t have to put up with any of the bar issues I’ve just stated which are only the tip of the iceberg.  I love bartending yet the hiring policy has changed and they no longer take the time to screen and personally interview bartenders or any other potential employee for that matter.  When your dealing with customer service its a one on one interaction so why would you hire a person with a great sounding application that he/she posted on the internet?  This business is still people person oriented and in the past 5 years theirs been a decline in the true art form of bartending that is sorely missed across the U.S.  With a downturn economy your local bartender should be the ambassador to all of your mundane issues going on in your life.  We didn’t ask for that role yet that is one we take when we hear about your court dates for drug chargers, attempted murder to child support cases.  When your kid runs away, when your wife catches you cheating or when you find out your husband is a cross-dresser to name a few.  People come to the bar to just vent and its our job not to take sides but to listen. This type of service is deteriating in the true art form of bartending which is rule number one, be a good listener which young bartenders are lost and have no clue about. So the next time you  enter a bar or restaurant establishment look around and get a feel of the guest who are already sitting down and if they look happy, then have a seat and sit a spell other wise find a bar that has personality and not plush decor.  When it comes down to it the customer has the power to make you or break you so instead of complaining to a manager about the drink, service or t.v. kindly get up thank them and leave; when enough customers take a stand on these crummy bars and bartenders they will get the message and go back to basics and hire personality over principle.

“LAST CALL FOR ALCOHOL”

O.k. its saturday night around 2:10a.m. and the bar closes at 3.00 So approximately round 2:30 I will give a last call for alcohol.  Now here lies the problem the music is bumping and the people are really loaded to say they might need another drink would be absurd yet it’s a good night and the women are restless so let’s make it do what it do.  The bartender stands on the bar ringing the bell at 2:30 and says “Last call for Alcohol” and then the d.j. also announces several times about the last call yet they keep dancing and dancing. Soon about 2:50 a.m. I’m surrounded at the bar with about 30 people screaming drinks out randomly as if they never heard the announcements that went out at least half a dozen times.  So at this point a bartender is really tired with back pain and hurting feet and he/she is in the process of breaking down.  This my friend truly, I mean truly pisses a bartender off and could soarly ruin they’re night.  You might say well why complain we’re in a recession and their getting a lot of extra money near closing time so what’s the big deal buddy?  I’m glad you ask and for that reason I have compiled several reasons why you should “never’ walk up to the bar when last call has been made and the bartender is closing down the bar.

1. Most people who don’t hear last call don’t need last call because they’re already drunk, duh!

2. Some professional bar hoppers will try to use last call to bargain with the bartenders and kinda get a 2 for 1 deal which they don’t need and will say ” keep that”,  as they hand you 2 dollars, yeah right…

3. Watch out for the smooth operators who try to buy women drinks only to call you over and refute the bill if the women or female disses them; what a pain in the A/#

4. Then you have the people who will try to get a drink for someone you cut off 30 minutes ago who could kill somebody in an accident which leaves you defending yourself about not serving them.  Either way your job is history my friend, because most owners will get amnesia when concerning their liquor license and your out in the cold! bur-r-r-r..

5. A beautiful women is nice to look at all night except when its last call then I become Ray Charles.  Most women who know their hot aren’t gonna tip much or at all.  The game is if a guy is talking with her she will kindly say “oh he’s paying for this” even if the dude just walked up to speak with her.  Game recognize game moma cita. (Note: if she’s in the business then the beauty will tip the bartender).

6. My favorite one is “come on man hook a brother up”, as Whitney Houston said “hell to the Nall”!!

7.  I’m just warming up, then there’s my grandma died now this cat will cry all night and think you won’t his depressing ass at your bar all night drinking by the way on the house.  You might wana get a 40 oz. and take it to the house G. My condolences.

8. Then there’s the few that will dispute you never said last call cause he was to busy getting high outside or trying to get his Mack on.

9. Here’s one you’ll love”there’s something in my drink man” after they’ve dranked 3/4 of the alcohol. Gimme a break homey.

10. And finally how about a shot for every body because I spent 30 dollars in this joint so come o G make it happen…..

There are several more that are truly outrageous yet I’ll leave you with these for now.  These are some of the reasons that bartenders aren’t particular with dealing with last calls because there are a multitude of issues that will arouse.  For a bonus I will tell you that if the night has been bad for tips it only gets worse when you say last call..
trifling, trifling, trifling…

How Old Is Old Enough For “Youg Girls To Wear Makeup”?

This moring as I was driving my 17 year old daughter to school I was listening to the topic on the radio about how old should a young girl be before she starts wearig makeup?  Well the answers surprised me a bit one caller, a male said he thinks when she’s ready a young girl can wear makeup, naturally he doesn’t have a girl.  Another caller called in who was 20 said she’d been wearing makeup sic the age of 13 and that because of the early age wearing of makeup she is self-conscience about leaving the house without makeup on because every women in her family wore makeup at an early age.  A third caller called said her child was a 7th grader and she said at the orientation there were many 11-13 year old wearing makeup and that she told her daughter if she caught her wearig makeup she would strangle her.  Well when my daughter was in elementary school in third grade I remember the first day of school and the principal was standing on the steps of the entrance of the school and she looked over every student that came in the building.  I was quite stricken by how many young girls were dress provocatively with tight skirts and tight dresses and oh yeah lots and lots of makeup.  This principal (a female) turn back at least a dozen girls due to either the tight skirts or the excessive makeup they were wearing.  the next day you should’ve seen the parents as they sent their little darlings up those steps and yes believe it or not some of those same girls still did not make the cut.  the answer came when some of the mothers got out of their vehicles and needless to say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.  They too were young (around 20 -30 years of age) and very hoochie to say the least.  One D.J. said something that was very profound he said that to allow your child to dress and look older than what they are increases the risk of having a pedafile seek these little girls out immediately.  It is no wonder that these children are running around believing that sex is the key to get what you want at an early age.  With T.V. that brodcast reality shows that prostitute young women looking for love in scandalalous clothes parading around half naked.  Kids tend to watch what there parents are watching and that lies half the problem.  Mother’s are younger and yet a lot of little girls are being brought up without there fathers so they don’t seem to have any male role models to look up to.  We as a people and a nation must do what little part we can to represent ourselves in a positve role and responsible adults whenever we are around young minds no matter if its family or a stranger it is our opportunity to let our light shine in their little world.  All kids resemble what they hear or what they see and if your watching all those shows that portray women in a negative way the Stop It Now!  Lets try and be better parents and better guardians by not letting kids into our adult world.  It should be character and actions that kids look up to and not Kim Kardashian or Brittney Spears or Lady Gaga.  Come on folks lets get our act together before our kids are ready to take their show on the road which reflects how they were raise ad who did the parenting…

I Have No Money, No Home, No Car, No Friends and ALL My Families Are Gone…

In this down-turn economy we find people scrambling to make ends meet literally every single day.  The fact is more and more people are loosing jobs and just yesterday congress announced that they will be eliminating thousands of government jobs in the next 6 months.  So what are we to do as citizens of this great and rich country; why is it that every where you turn there is  a series of layoffs that continuously destroys the fabric of our existence and our being?  We were once told to go to school get an education then go to college and get a great job but what our moms and dads didn’t prepare us for was a crisis like the one we are now facing to last for years and years.  it is one thing to have a dead-end job yet now even if you have a masters or doctrine degree you are subject to job loss due to the economy!  No job, no home, no car, no money, no friends, (cause they’re the first to go) and no family to depend on; what can you do when all hope is  gone and there’s nowhere to turn?  James 1:2-5 (NIV)  says 2. Consider it pure joy my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds.  3. because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4. Perseverance must finish its works so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything. 5.  If any of you lack wisdom he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to him.  My beloved what God is speaking through James is quite simple, though it may seem that all hell is breaking loose all around you in your home, on your job, in your finances and in your family; God is telling you to “COUNT IT ALL JOY”!  The word joy means of the highest joy yet you might say what so joyful about an eviction or a foreclosure?   Well the good new is that with every trial comes a test and when you are going through your trials God is behind the scenes testing and purifying your Christ like  character.  In order to be a true christian you sometimes have to be tested ad re-tested for every trial that a child of God goes through is a masterpiece of strategy of the Captain of his salvation which is for his good.  The trying and testing in whence your experience flows, it is merely the perfecting of your patience as well as your endurance that God is fine tuning in you.  Have you ever heard the phrase what “won’t kill ya makes you stronger” well that’s how God works He builds you up from the inside out so that whatever trial may come your way you are prepared to endure all that may encounter  from sickness to homeless.  The Good News translation puts it this way, James1:2 (GNT)”My good friends consider yourselves fortunate will all kinds of trials comes your way”.  It may be raining and the storms are blowing everything loose right now in your life but rest assure that soon and very soon the storm will be over.  Jesus paid the ultimate price for us all on Calvary and He paid all our debts, you already have the victory my friends and you have the power and the authority to speak to that storm in your life and declare in the name of Jesus that you are out debt, out foreclosure, you have a job, your family is back together and for the devil to get out of your house!  The house I speak of is your mind and soul, faith is how we prevail and fight all the trials and test that may come our way.  Yes it looks bad, yes it looks like there’s no way out but I know God who is loving, I know a God who is sovereign and by faith this too shall pass.  My beloved my hope for all who read this is to know that God loves you and God hears your cry.  If you believe by faith that He can make a way out of no way then my hope for you is to get on your knees and repent of all your sins and simply tell God what you feel, ask God for His wisdom and to make you over to cleanse your soul and seek salvation.  Jesus told us that “if anyone comes after Him he must forget about himself and pick up his cross and follow Him” (Mathew 16:24)  so we know that there will be trials and tribulations yet even so we lift our hands up to the sky and say Thank you Lord. and we count it all joy…

Can I Get a Whopper w/fries and a Heneiken?

Have you ever wanted to go to a burger joint order a thick juicy burger and wash it down with your favorite beer, well now you can.   Burger King has recently opened another one of their Burger Bars and this ones located in New York city.  The bad news is their still waiting on the liquor license yet that will be completed by mid August.  The Burger Bar as its called will feature more toppings and a thicker burger with still the tradition of that flame broil taste.  I truly approve of this move of  Burger King keeping up with the times of what people or asking for and delivering the goods.  This is a company in my opinion who listens to the consumers and are risk takers and not afraid to think outside the box in order to deliver great service to their customers for some time to come.  Kudos to you Burger King and try to get one of those bars in Atlanta real soon…http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/07/30/one-burger-bar-hold-the-beer-for-now/

Rude Customers at Hartsfield-Jackson airport

If you ever get the chance to work at an airport you’ll find that no matter where these people come from they are truly rude as hell!  Don’t get me wrong I’m a people kind of guy yet my experience dealing with customers was truly challenged when I worked 6 years at the airport and to make matters worst when they hire you they warn you about the unruly guest and they instruct you to deal with it.

The company I worked for (Concessions International) told us that  “you will have people lie on you, call you racial epitome, and just down right talk to you any way they see fit and just to deal with it with a smile”.  Sounds easy breasy huh, well it was 6 grueling years yet with this economy and a slow job market where are you gonna go?  For instance when I was in line heading to work a guest who was in the same security line was trying to get my attention to go ahead of him yet he got my attention by saying “yo burger king boy” needless to say I worked at a Sam Adams bar and not burger king although our shirts were the same color.  Another occasion was when the Presidential race was going on and I had a bar packed with guess yet three business men were referring to at the time presidential candidate Barack Obama is “that Koon”; you hear it all and see it all.

On other occasions if you don’t move fast enough when they’ve realized they don’t have time to eat their meal and wana cash out in seconds your called a moron or my favorite an idiot.  You have to have tough skin to even walk in that airport yet to make matters worse the company we worked for doesn’t back you on anything that happens with the guest.  I had a friend who had a guest who had 5 beers and paid with a credit card, his bill was 19.80 cents.  The guest was truly a butt hole because one he never sat down at the bar and two he intended to leave her a .20 cent tip.  The problem was that instead of rounding off the receipt to 20.00 he did it for 25.00 yet a week later he called back and complained about his tab being 25.00.  When the so-called managers investigated the problem they learned that the guest indeed wrote out the receipt for the 25.00 and signed it yet when this same guest called back 2 days later after being proven wrong he told the so-called managers that he didn’t get good service so they fired her on the spot.

Even though the guest never sat down at the bar because he kept running to check on his flight he was able to get my dear friend fired even though the cameras showed he never sat at the bar the whole time.  There are many war stories like this yet the sad part as I said earlier is that the company that I worked for has taken an Uncle Tom approach in dealing with guest who are truly rude, racist and ridiculous.  Most of the frustration is coming from delayed flights, missing connecting flights, or cancelled flights none have to do with the bar area yet if they can’t talk to a ticket counter person they can surely piss the hell on us with the blessing of Concessions.

They made their employees a cess-pool and a dumping ground and no matter what a guest may be upset about it sure ain’t the alcohol. Any company you work for has a duty and obligation to make sure that their employees have a safe working environment and that threats of any kind or insults for that matter will not be tolerated.  An employee should be able to perform their job effectively with out being disrespected, after all Lincoln helped freed the salves.  So if you ever get the chance to work at any airport for that matter just remember get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluid and pray like hell!!!!! Whoo-saaaaa….
